As a system user, go to System Settings > ADMINISTRATE > Settings > System > Planforge home folder. The path will be displayed there. During installation, the Planforge home folder is created in the home folder of the user who started the Tomcat server. The folder contains the “planforge” folder, which in turn contains the configuration file, the license file, backups, and logs, among others.
For Windows users: If you start Tomcat as a system service, then the Planforge home folder will normally be created in C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Planforge. Since this can lead to unwelcome side effects, we recommend forcing a different location for this folder. Please see Chapter 3.1, info box “Planforge home directory and user for Tomcat” in the installation manual for detailed instructions on how to do so. The manual is available in the “doc” folder of the Planforge zip-archive or online at:
https://downloads.planforge.io/documentation/planforge-server-installation.pdf
You can find the license file in the Planforge home folder on the server Planforge is installed on. As a system user, you can see the path to the home folder by going to System Settings > ADMINISTRATE > Settings > System > Planforge home folder.
You can find the configuration file in the Planforge home folder on the server Planforge is installed on. As a system user, you can see the path to the home folder by going to System Settings > ADMINISTRATE > Settings > System > Planforge home folder.
Please refer to Chapter 6.9 of the installation manual. It contains detailed instructions on how to use LDAP/Active Directory with Planforge. The manual is available in the “doc” folder of the Planforge zip-archive or online at: https://downloads.planforge.io/documentation/planforge-server-installation.pdf
By default, Tomcat uses only a part of the available physical memory. Therefore, Planforge can run out of memory if you use large project plans or have many users. In this case, we recommend allocating more memory to Tomcat. For productive installations, we recommend at least 3-4 GB for your Tomcat.
Detailed information on the Tomcat memory settings can be found in Chapter 3.4 of the installation manual. The manual is available in the “doc” folder of the Planforge zip-archive or online at: https://downloads.planforge.io/documentation/planforge-server-installation.pdf
Yes, Planforge supports server virtualization via Docker: https://hub.docker.com/r/planforge/server
By default, Planforge creates two separate log files in the Planforge home folder, subfolder Logs. These provide detailed information to trace issues.
Additionally, system users can enable performance logging under System Settings > ADMINISTRATE > Settings > System > Enable performance monitoring and then review the performance logs under … ADMINISTRATE > Performance. This setting should only be activated temporarily to diagnose performance issues.
