If you are using our cloud services your user data is stored in data centers managed by leading cloud storage provider IBM. User data from companies located in the US, Canada, or other parts of the Americas is stored in the San José, CA datacenter, while user data from European companies is stored in the Frankfurt data center in Germany.
All communication between your web browser and Planforge's cloud servers is encrypted via strong SSL encryption – authenticity is ensured via server-side certificates. While there is no such thing as an unbreakable system, hardware firewalls and regular security patches make sure that we provide a high level of security for our clients.
While we need to be able to send you important updates, billing, and status information regarding the services and software we provide, you are in full control of what other communication you want to receive from us. You can separately subscribe to and unsubscribe from promotional messages such as, e.g., the invitation to our annual user meeting, as well as our quarterly newsletter, the Planforge Newsletter.
You have the possibility to subscribe to our newsletter via our website. For this we need your email address and your declaration that you agree with the subscription to the newsletter.

This website utilises Matomo, an open-source analytics software provided by InnoCraft Ltd., 150 Willis St, 6011 Wellington, New Zealand, for statistical analysis of user behaviour, optimisation, and marketing purposes. The European Union Commission has certified an adequate level of data protection for New Zealand, allowing permissible data transfers under Article 45 of the GDPR.
By installing and integrating Matomo on our server, we ensure that no data is shared with third parties. Matomo operates in an enhanced privacy mode, preventing the setting of cookies, ensuring collected analytics data is void of personal information, and restricting the use of collected data solely for analysis purposes.
The processed data includes browser type, browser version, operating system, country of origin, date and time of server requests, number of visits, time spent on the website, and external links clicked. Before storing IP addresses, they are anonymised. The data is processed on our servers and not shared with third parties.
Pseudonymous usage profiles may be created and evaluated from this data, but the information generated is not used to personally identify visitors to the website and is not merged with personal data about the pseudonym bearer.

We process your personal data on the basis of our prevailing legitimate interest according to Article 6(1)(f) General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) which is to achieve the purposes set out under point 4 above. If you are one of our clients, we may also process your data on the basis of the necessity for the performance of the contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
For the purposes set out above, we will transfer your personal data to the following recipients:
We will retain your data for a period of 28 months, in general. We will only retain your personal data for a longer period to the extend that this is necessary to investigate attacks of our website. We will store the personal data that we are collecting in the context of your use of our service offering for seven years. Furthermore we will keep your personal data as long as there are statutory retention obligations or potential legal claims are not yet time-barred.
